Nancy Joie's Favorite Soup—

I bought myself a crockpot for Christmas 2010.  I used to have one years ago—along with a few pretty good recipes.  Alas, the ebb and flow of life claimed these and I am having to start over.  My first recreation is "Nancy Joie's Chicken Rice Vegetable Soup!" Oh, yes—turkey can be substituted for chicken and barley can be substituted for the rice.  I actually prefer it this way, but I am not certain everyone is a fan of barley!
